The Clearview Psychiatric Center opened its doors in August 1987 and has been providing behavioral health services to residents of Russell County and surrounding areas ever since.

Russell County Hospital has been serving the community for more than 70 years. Here are a few important milestones:
1920
Dr. A.K. Gilmer and Dr. Daniel Trigg opened the first hospital in Lebanon. Trigg-Gilmer Hospital was a 12-bed hospital located on Main Street in the Bays Building (current TruPoint Bank).
1938
Began providing healthcare service to the community.
1939
Dr. W.C. Elliot and Dr. James Elliot opened Lebanon General Hospital (25 beds) on our present site.
1954
Hospital was expanded to 50 beds.
1968
Added another 40 beds.
1975
The Elliots sold the hospital to Russell County Health Facilities, and the name was changed to Russell County Medical Center.
1987
Brookside opened (20-bed inpatient psychiatric unit)
2008
The facility became a part of Mountain States Health.
2012
Russell County Medical Center received designation as a Center for Excellence in Pneumonia Care from the Joint Commission.
2013
Russell County Medical Center and Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon established a connection to expand the services offered to residents of Southwest Virginia.
