Intensive Care/Progressive Care – 423-302-3111
The Intensive Care Unit/Progressive Care Unit at FWCH, providing 24-hour treatment, is located on the third floor of the hospital. The ICU/PCU provides comprehensive care to adult medical/surgical patients who require intense monitoring and nursing care.
The ICU has eight beds, and the PCU has 12 beds. All rooms are private, and the units both have an open visitation policy. All beds are equipped with telemetry and ventilator support, and are capable of electrocardiography, invasive arterial, venous, pulmonary artery and noninvasive blood pressure monitoring. Patient care in the ICU/PCU includes early detection and prevention of complications, management of complex physiological problems, patient/family education, and family psychosocial support systems.
In the waiting room, patient families will find coffee, fresh cookies and maps so they can easily find the cafeteria, restrooms and other useful areas of the hospital.
